As much as getting on one knee is an incredibly important part of the process, and planning the wedding can be one of the most stressful tasks imagined, you can't forget about celebrating your last night of freedom! Traditionally, a Stag or Hen Party would take place the day or evening before your wedding day, but in the 21st Century we find these events getting booked for around a month prior to the big day - leaving plenty of time to work off those hangovers.

As part of a series of blog posts (and hopefully some helpful tips too), here are our favourite Stag Party destinations and activities:

Oxford, Oxfordshire
With only the countryside a short drive away, this city is known worldwide for its high-ranking Universities, Culture and history, Oxford is a real favourite with Stag Do's for the variety of activities that it offers. The Simply Good Times website has actually featured Oxfordshire as part of a Stag Package that we offer, and it is by far one of the most popular among this group. Oxford Multi-Activity Day - £75pp
Similar to the outdoor activities we offer in Brighton, we have packages to suit all budgets. These activities are set 30 minutes outside of Oxford in the lovely countryside. Lunches are also available on site for an extra £5pp. See below for activities included in the £75pp:

Oxford Comedy Club - £25pp
Oxford's most popular evening. Eat, drink, laugh and relax for more than 2 hours of pure enjoyment. There is a club and a restaurant attached so this is a perfect starter to your evening. Tickets from £25pp, with options to pre-order food from a discount menu! Just ask for more details.

Oxfordshire Self-Catering - from £130pp
How else to spend your weekend Stag Do? Hire out a beautiful country house for 3 nights with access to communal Games Room, private hot tub and BBQ area. From here, you could hire our professional chefs to serve you a 3 course dinner (from £45pp) in your own private kitchen? Or why not hire a Casino Table and private Croupier for your poker tournament later on in the evening (POA)?

Oxford 'Around the World’ Whisky Tasting - £40pp
(At your self-catering property)
This is an up tempo, fast moving and humorous interactive whisky tasting event made easy with no previous knowledge required. It has proved extremely popular over the years. It’s very informal and a really good laugh. The format is a ‘Around the World’ Tasting with six different whiskies to try from around the globe. All Glassware, etc is provided.
