Event Details & Itinerary:
We were contacted by excited bride-to-be Laura, looking to chat through some initial Hen Party ideas, before handing the project to her head bridesmaid.
She was looking for a funky hen party, and it had to be Brighton, as she and her friends spent great years as university students in the city. Laura wanted stylish self-catering town-house accommodation close to the Brighton party action, and preferably a property with some features and 'a bit of character'. Laura thought the group would enjoy a fun, creative activity, but nothing too raunchy as there would be Mums present! At our suggestion Laura was also very interested in a Private Dining Experience for the Saturday evening where the Mums could theme and decorate the space prior to the meal, and also VIP Booth Hire at a seafront nightclub, so that the ladies could party on in style once their Mums had gone to bed!
After some research we presented Laura with a range of three charming, stylish Brighton city-centre self-catering accommodation options. After some time to decide Laura plumped for a spacious town-house located just off the seafront in a charming regency square. Once the funky accommodation was sorted it was on to the extras! Laura's head bridesmaid took the reins, and combined with her bride-to-be's hints and previous discussions with Simply Good Times, a deliciously sweet, indulgent treat of a hen party took shape as below:
Friday:
18.30 Guests begin to arrive at Brighton Railway Station and assemble at the bar meeting point where a table is reserved and drinks flow!
19.30 Hens board minibus taxis and take a short ride toward the sea and to the spectacular self-catering town-house.
19.40 Guests arrives at town-house and are greeted with a full fridge and wine from the supermarket delivery arranged earlier for the group.
21.00 Some of the ladies head into Brighton to explore their old haunts, while others stay in and enjoy the properties' fine entertaining areas, karaoke setup, sauna, and of course wine!
Saturday:
10.00 As requested by Laura her town-house was located in the heart of the city with some of the country's top retail therapy on the doorstep, which proved handy as the 'most hungover' ladies staggered out for a spot of early shopping!
12.00 Ladies lunch at a pre-recommended and booked café in Brighton's charming Lanes conveniently close to their next activity!
13.00 After much hinting; Chocolate Making Workshop was decided upon by Laura's Hens as a sweet treat activity to follow a morning of hectic (hungover) shopping, and a two-hour session making and sampling the finest, most delicious chocolate treats proved 'the perfect tonic'!
15.00 Continuing the indulgent, treat theme of this sophisticated Hen Party one of the particularly well-heeled hens had secretly arranged a surprise Pamper Party with us for Laura and the rest of the girls as perfect preparation for the big night-out. The plan was apparently nearly scuppered when some of the thirstier hens decided on an impromptu bar stop on the route home! Disaster was averted by way of some take-out Wine, and a very successful and boozy surprise Pamper Party was enjoyed by all!
20.00 At our recommendation a Private Dining Room had been booked for the group and all meals pre-ordered at a great, family run restaurant very near to the house. The personalisation option afforded by the Private Dining Room was very well received as Mum's had slipped to the restaurant early to theme and decorate the space with items such as embarrassing photo place-mats displaying childhood photos of Laura and her friends. The privacy of the space was also apparently very useful as it was 'a fairly raucous affair'!
22.30 Mums depart as the remaining ladies head to the seafront, via some pre-recommended bars, and swish past the nightclub queue heading to their very own glamorous VIP Booth with private bar to party the night away in style!
Sunday:
Group spends day relaxing at their town-house enjoying the on-site sauna and Laura's fave DVDs on the huge TV while nursing sore heads! Those having to work on Monday morning depart in the late afternoon while the remaining guests order dinner from a local takeaway and polish off the remaining wine!
Monday:
10.00 Final guests depart for the station via taxi after a 'beautiful hen party sure to keep Laura smiling well into married life'!!!
