Crossbows are impressive manual weapons which provide a challenging and engaging event requiring a steady hand, calm nerves, and great aim! Crossbow Firing is exhilarating as a stand alone experience, and can also be teamed with some other Country Pursuits activities for a top Multi-Activity Day.
What happens on the day?
Crossbow Firing is taught by friendly, qualified instructors in stunning countryside venues across the UK. Crossbow Firing sessions start with an introduction to the standard equipment to be used during the experience, usually over bacon rolls and coffee, or cake and tea! Once familiarised with the equipment guests are given the opportunity to 'get their eye in' with some simple close range practice. As guests' Crossbow Firing skills improve the targets are moved further and further away, and guests are often amazed that before long they are hitting targets accurately and regularly from distance. The power of the Crossbows is impressive! Confident with their new found abilities guests have the option to compete in a friendly competition with prizes for top shots, and forfeits!
